Star Wars Cake Contest!

All registered members are encouraged to submit a photo of your best Star Wars Cake. All voting will be done by the site members and the TOP 3 winning entries will receive “ Wookiee Cookies : A Star Wars Cookbook ".


In addition we will be donating $25 in the 1st place winner's name to The National Breast Cancer Foundation.

SUBMISSION RULES:

• Photos must be submitted before November 22, 2008
• Photos must be in the theme of Star Wars.
• Photos submitted must belong to you. No scans or images from other websites will be allowed (unless you are the owner of the photo)
• By submitting the photo you are granting CakeCentral.com rights to the image.
• Absolutely no watermarks can be on your contest entries.
Photo must not have additional layers of text that give away your identity such as "Jane Doe's Cakes"
• The photo cannot contain people’s faces. If there are visible faces in your image, you must crop them out before submitting the photo, otherwise your contest entry will be disqualified and your photo removed. (If your actual cake decorations, such as a frosting sheet has faces on it, this is permitted)
• No adult themed cakes.
Do not upload your photo to multiple photo galleries.
Do not solicit votes via the Cakecentral.com Forum, PM, or photo gallery comments/descriptions.
• Limit 1 entry per person - .1 entry means 1 photo upload to the contest.
•If you were the first place winner of the previous contest you are not eligible to win this contest.
•The same cake cannot win more than 1 contest
•Pullled/Blown Suger, Cookies and Gingerbread cannot be entered in the contest unless they are part of the cake decoration. The entire cake must be featured in the photo, photos of just the cookies, or decorations will be removed.
• The cake submitted must be your own.
• Employees and family members of employees of CakeCentral.com are not eligible.
• All prizes can be shipped internationally, so everyone, everywhere is welcome to enter!

ACCEPTABLE ENTRY If you have entered an elaborate cake that is many layers or comprised of several different cakes, all making up the 1 cake. This can be entered, because although it is comprised of many layers and different "cakes" it is technically 1 cake. Only upload 1 photo though.

UNACCEPTABLE ENTRY If you have 2 completely different cakes, you cannot enter both. Choose which one is your favorite and only enter the 1.
You are only allowed to enter 1 photo period. Some people will use a graphics program to show multiple angles of the cake in 1 photo, this is also acceptable.
The point being, you can only upload 1 photo per contest.


VOTING RULES:
• Votes must be placed from November 22, 2008 - November 30, 2008
• You may only rate each photo in the contest once.
• You can vote on as many photos as you want.
• Anyone that is a registered member of CakeCentral.com can rate the photos.
• Scores are based on the cumulative total of the points received NOT the average rating.
This means that if you give a cake 5 stars, you are essentially giving that cake 5 points.
• The Winner will be announced on November 30, 2008.

How Do You Enter A Cake?

First make sure you are a registered member of CakeCentral.com, and that you are logged in.

To upload a new photo to the contest:

  1. Go to the galleries tab at the top of the page.
  2. Click on "Upload Picture" near the top of the page.
  3. From the "Album" dropdown, select "Contests >"2009 Star Wars Contest ".
  4. Hit the browse button and find where you have saved your photo on your computer.
  5. Then put in a title and a description of your cake and hit the upload button at the bottom of the page.
  6. Then wait a few seconds to a few minutes for it to complete. Larger photos take longer. (Be careful not to interrupt this process, it will only create duplicate uploads)



To move an existing photo into the contest:

  1. Click on "My Photos" from the "My Account" box on the left. 
  2. Click to view the large image of the photo you want to enter
  3. Click the "Edit Photo" button
  4. From the "Album" dropdown, select "Contests >"2009 Star Wars Contest ".
  5. Then make sure the  title and a description of your cake are correct and hit the "Apply Modifications"

NOTE: Be aware that comments, favorite count and upload information will be hidden until the contest is over.

 

Please note, that you will not be able to comment on photos in the contest, until the contest is over.


How Do You Vote?
First, View all the contest entires
You will need to click on each thumbnail image to view the fullsize and get to the area to vote.
Once you are viewing a full-size image You will see a series of "star" images below it.

If you like the cake and you think it should win and want to give it the highest vote you can,
you would click "The Best The Best!".
Voting is anonymous, so it will not show who placed which vote.

Also, For your convenience, you can easily navigate to the next, or previous photo in the contest without having to go back to the thumbnail page each time you vote. At the top-right of each full-size image you will see 2 arrows to navigate to the previous, or next photo in the contest: See previous picture See next picture
